Check out this 8.0-km loop trail near Wawa, Ontario. Generally considered a moderately challenging route, it takes an average of 2 h 48 min to complete. This is a popular trail for camping, hiking, and running, but you can still enjoy some solitude during quieter times of day. The best times to visit this trail are May through September. Dogs are welcome, but must be on a leash.

Discover this 4.3-km out-and-back trail near Wawa, Ontario. Generally considered an easy route, it takes an average of 1 h 20 min to complete. This trail is great for birding, hiking, and walking, and it’s unlikely you’ll encounter many other people while exploring.
High Falls to Silver Falls
Moderate Hiking Ability. Lake Superior Trail.
Head out on this 5.3-km out-and-back trail near Wawa, Ontario. Generally considered a moderately challenging route, it takes an average of 1 h 45 min to complete. This trail is great for hiking, snowshoeing, and running, and it’s unlikely you’ll encounter many other people while exploring. The trail is open year-round and is beautiful to visit anytime. This trail includes hiking to beautiful waterfalls at both ends. If you’re coming from Magpie Falls, there are a few steep areas within the first kilometer, and one moist and muddy part that you may have to follow during the summer months. Most hikers will find this trail slightly challenging, but if you come prepared with water, weather protection (especially for the mist), and friends, you will have a great time.

Peat Mountain Loop
Moderate Hiking Ability. Lake Superior Park Trail
Check out this 8.0-km loop trail near Wawa, Ontario. Generally considered a moderately challenging route, it takes an average of 2 h 37 min to complete. This is a popular trail for birding, camping, and hiking, but you can still enjoy some solitude during quieter times of day. The best times to visit this trail are April through November. Dogs are welcome, but must be on a leash.
This is the very demanding hike with excellent views, but thankfully most of the challenges are in the first half of the Lake loop. Hikers recommend planning between three and five hours to hike with a dog. Bugs are normally worst in spring, so hiking at the end of summer and during fall is recommended. Folks recommend camping at Rabbit Blanket, paddling the lake and streams as well, before making your trek up to the beautiful views looking up at the mountain. Overall, this is a challenging trail with awesome lookouts, and the route is well marked and easy to follow. This is a shorter section of this loop, as there is a longer version that includes the Foam Lake extension.

Potholes Trail

Get to know this 0.8-km out-and-back trail near Wawa, Ontario. Generally considered a moderately challenging route, it takes an average of 12 min to complete. This trail is great for birding, hiking, and running, and it’s unlikely you’ll encounter many other people while exploring. The best times to visit this trail are May through October. Dogs are welcome, but must be on a leash.
This is a very short hike along a peaceful little trail with some neat geological features to see, known as the Potholes. Folks recommend planning between 20-30 minutes here, along with bringing decent footwear to help navigate along the end of the trail. If interested, you can also go further into the Cedar Trails which is a moderate trail. The famous Potholes are a must watch. There is often quite a good variety of wildlife in the region, and you should be expecting to see animals like white mink, white-tailed deer, moose, bear, and fox.

Enjoy this 14.8-km loop trail near Wawa, Ontario. Generally considered a moderately challenging route, it takes an average of 4 h 33 min to complete. This trail is great for birding and paddle sports, and it’s unlikely you’ll encounter many other people while exploring. Beautiful day trip paddle with multiple short portages.
