Wawa’s Annual Ice Fishing Derby draws a huge crowd each year! The Derby takes place on Wawa Lake, Hawk Lake and Manitowik Lake, and is always held the first weekend in March.
Derby Registration
Online registration costs $155.
However, tickets are also available locally for purchase by cash or credit cards. A $5 service fee will apply at Canadian Tire located at 54 Broadway Ave. You can call 705-856-2285 for more information.
If the derby hasn’t sold out, registrations can be purchased at the Michipicoten Memorial Community Centre on the Friday of the derby from 1p.m. to 10 p.m.
Derby Prizes
Over $140,000 worth of prizes are available to be won! Registration Draws, largest 6 fish of any species caught on each lake, and cash early bird draws are held each year.
